Biography   He was born in 1935 in DUZCE.   He graduated from primary school and middle school in DUZCE.   He attended the ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS, DEPARTMENT OF ORNAMENTING in 1952. He studied in middle and high departments of Poster Workshop under the management of Zeki Faik İZER and Namık BAYIK. He graduated from the Academy in 1957.   He was classified as second at YAPI ve KREDİ BANKASI Poster Contest and was awarded as the first and second for his two posters at the Poster Contest held by PENSIONERS FUND. He also built many panels at many pavilions in Izmir Fair and Istanbul Industry exhibitions.   Engaged in the art of Cartoon prior to Academy, Atilla's cartoons have been published on magazines KARAKEDİ, TEF, 41 BUÇUK, AKBABA and Newspaper AKŞAM until 1958.   He worked for SAN ORGANIZATION and Advertising Workshop founded by Mengü ERTEL from its establishment to his move to France.   He exhibited his poster in his very FIRST Personal Poster Show in 1957 at the Art Gallery of FUAYE.   As his underlying purpose is to express himself through pictures in plastic arts, he was specially trained by Sabri BERKEL, his trainer in addition to his study on poster. Inspired from nature for a short while, he tended to Abstract Art of "AVANT-GARDE" trend of 50's and met with Nuri İYEM with whom his friendship grew up in master and apprentice character.   The art center of the world, Paris, is the city where the greatest masters live, where their works are first exhibited and then distributed around the world. Turkey was unable to benefit from such distribution. Art events and works produced could only be followed on magazines. The most important of all, Paris has the LOUVRE MUSEUM, which is the Kabe of Art. Master CEZANNE said "the greatest school is the LOUVRE MUSEUM".   Having decided to radically learn about drawing at its homeland, he immigrated to FRANCE on board the same ship with ERDAL ALANTAR in spring in 1958 after leaving the branch of graphics completely.   He met and established friendship with Selim TURAN, Nejad Avni ARBAŞ, Hakkı ANLI, Remzi RAŞA, İhsan ŞURDUM, Mübin ORHON, Adnan VARINCA, Adnan ÇOKER and many French painters and other country painters in Paris.   He has been idle to learn language and for orientation.   He attended COLLEGE OF NATIONAL FINE ARTS OF PARIS in 1961. He left the college due to lack of seriousness in study in the second year. He independently continued his study by making researches and copies at the LOUVRE Museum.   He studied the works of veteran masters especially in LOUVRE as well as other museums of France and Europe. He also followed New Developments from the galleries.   Having completed his military services as Reserve Officer between 1963 and 1965 in Turkey in ARTVIN, he just returned to PARIS and resumed his studies.   For the purpose of delivering a permanent product that is able to touch everyone's sensibility but basing on the essentials of the Art, the artist, without attending the trends in fashion but also without being uninterested to them, lives between PARIS and BRESSUIRE (DEUX SEVRES Region of FRANCE).
